The Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has suffered a defeat at his party conference after members rejected his plan to drop national housing targets.
But it is not the only policy that Sir Ed wants to do away with. He also announced the end of the long-standing Lib Dem pledge to increase Income Tax by a penny. He said people were already paying enough tax under the Conservatives.
