Another overdue opportunity for Apple to bolster its subs.
LG has announced today that the Apple TV app will be coming to many of its 2019 TV models - including all of its 9-series OLEDs - in more than 80 countries.
The LG TVs confirmed as receiving the Apple TV app are the Z9, W9, E9, C9 and B9 OLEDs, and the SM9X, SM8X, UM7X and UM6X NanoCell LCD TVs. Note that the UM7X and UM6X support won’t roll out until later in the month. LG revealed at CES that its 2020 TV range should have Apple TV onboard from launch, and has now also promised that it will be bringing Apple TV to many of its 2018 TVs via another over the air firmware update.
