The midfielder has been a star performer abroad this season and his off-field duties are earning praise too.
The Scotland midfielder left Aberdeen last summer for Bologna to follow a growing trend of his national team peers heading abroad from the UK to Italy's top-flight. Aaron Hickey earned a move to Brentford off form at Bologna and Josh Doig is also thriving in Serie A at Hella Verona, with Ferguson's performances this term seeing him rated as one of the division's best.
He's even captained Thiago Motta's side on occasion and in new footage released to social media, thee midfielder can be seen completing post-match media duties in a second language. He goes through an interview speaking confidently in Italian to describe his thoughts on his team, leaving fans back home impressed. One said "his game has come on so much this season" and another raved "love it when a young Scot takes his chance abroad.
"He’s smashing over there in all aspects of life" is what another supporter said. And another hopes Scotland boss Steve Clarke is watching, adding "hopefully, his patience at international level so far will see him get the regular starting spot his form deserves." Ferguson is in Clarke's team for the final round of Euro 2024 qualifiers against Georgia and Norway. He has been limited in his chances so far but will hope to show he can be a worth starting XI member too alongside John McGinn, Callum McGregor and Scott McTominay.
