Letters to the Editor - Jan. 6 hearings, evil, Dallas traffic | Opinion
Readers find the Jan. 6 hearings riveting; discuss the column on the banality of evil; and talk about making Dallas streets safer.
Inflation is a worldwide problem that followed the pandemic. Understanding the attempt to overthrow our democracy is another issue and should be of the utmost importance to every American. As the hearings continue, I believe we will see there was a coordinated effort to throw out the legitimate votes of the American people.
No matter what their political affiliation, if people don’t care enough to learn how this coup attempted to take over our government and how to prevent another occurrence, they don’t deserve democracy. The piece by Abramson and Aftergut is very informative, especially the reference to the New York University School of Medicine study showing how helpful the now defunct federal ban on semi-automatic rifles was and could be if reinstated. I deeply wish our lawmakers would pay attention to that study.
