Have you prayed for safety for your students during lockdown drills? Have you prayed for them during a daily moment of silence? “Lord, keep my students safe today.” I have. There are teachers who have given their lives trying to protect their students. I have not. Do I think about what I would do, if I would have the courage to lay down my life for my students? I have.
The organization for gun safety would need to make a report every year to Congress. I think that this would give those with the most experience a huge political and ethical role in this problem. Yet, I don’t recall any school shootings until recently. So why now? It’s not the guns! It must be the deterioration of individual responsibility, and that’s different from mental illness. Today, everyone feels entitled — to get their own way or be the toughest, the most notable. More guns=more shootings=more gun deaths. Gun sales skyrocketed during the pandemic. Until our leaders, Republican and Democrat alike, acknowledge the simple math and commit to fixing the problem, their words are less than meaningless.When will this insanity end? I think we need to change our motto from “In God We Trust” to “In Guns We Trust.” I will not vote for any legislator or leader who does not support enacting stronger gun control legislation.Gov.
