Here are a few thoughts for the Dallas ISD trustees as they seek a new superintendent:
Leubsdorf notes correctly that over half of all Americans pay no income tax. But although his column is focused on how Republicans and Democrats will differ on tax policy in the next election, he never tells the readers why half the population is so favored. The answer: Republican tax legislation. Reading this headline, I found myself weeping at the thought of a mother who has to use GoFundMe to raise money to leave Texas and flee to California just to provide a safe environment for her daughter. The directive from Gov. Greg Abbott to investigate and prosecute those who are caring for our transgender youth is heinous and, as we are already seeing, will cause long-term trauma and damage to our youth.
I agree 100% with Viney who wrote, “I applaud the generous and loving people who serve as foster parents, and to our CPS workers: We need more of you.”
