Readers offer their opinions on the viability of renewable energy in the province and the rewards that come from volunteering.
Nineteen years ago, I saw an article in a weekly free newspaper in Saskatoon about volunteering at Village Green Thrift Shop, run by the Mennonite Central Committee, which is currently on 20th street.
All these years later, I am still there and enjoying it greatly. I work with books, but there are many different areas: Sorting donations, putting out craft materials, working as a cashier, etc. One’s fellow volunteers and the paid staff become good friends and the customers are varied and interesting.
