A Palatine letter to the editor: So you think you are safe from more taxes because your income is less than $250k? Well, not so fast.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker and his Democratic cronies are trying to increase your taxes again. Forget about the claim they usually use stating"no one earning less than $250,000 will have their taxes increased."

J.B. must be insulted that his plan to change the state constitution to allow graduated income taxes was shot down so he's trying again. This time, he and his cronies are proposing charging a tax on services. Apparently your taxes won't go up unless you buy something or pay for some service, meaning anything you do.

What happened to"not less than $250K?" They also still want"the rich" to pay their"fair share," whatever that is. In an opinion I had published around April 30, 2021, I stated how this works, namely raising taxes by a small amount on millions of taxpayers creates more income for the state than raising taxes by a larger amount on the"rich" simply because there are fewer"rich."

Conniving bunch, these politicians. They will always try to find a sneaky way to get their hands into your wallet.
