According to an article that appeared in the print edition of the StarPhoenix on Wednesday with the headline “Canada stuck in the spend zone; Total federal, provincial debt has nearly doubled in 15 years,” federal spending has increased 83 per cent in the last 15 years, which is not sustainable.has increased 90 per cent in the same time period. The article is based on a study by the Fraser Institute on the growing debt levels of governments in Canada.
