By Cece Espinoza Holt | The Public ForumAs a parent of four children who attended Catholic schools in the Salt Lake Diocese from grades kindergarten to high school, I would like to respond to theParents who want their children in stellar Catholic schools often do that at a great sacrifice; many are not rich parents. The Catholic schools in the diocese do an amazing job of providing tuition assistance.

It was interesting that in the same December issue, The Salt Lake Tribune editorial board noted that “Salt Lake City school board is in crisis and its leaders have failed to respond.” Through property taxes, those who pay tuition for religious and private schools are actually subsidizing public schools.
