'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 1 Ending, Explained
The day has finally come for Belly to become a debutante. Conrad asked Belly to be her escort, not only because his mom Susannah suggested it, but because he actually wanted to. This caused an uproar with Belly's deb sister, Nicole, who was crushing on Conrad, and ultimately resulted in him backing out. His brother Jeremiah swooped in to save the day despite him saying he would never take part in the debutante ball.
After the escort dance number, Jeremiah takes Susannah's phone and looks through her email only to find out about her relapse. Because of this, he leaves Belly stranded for the partnered waltz, which Conrad ends up stepping in for " as the soundtrack to that scene. Could this showmore iconic?). After the dance, Jere confronts Conrad to tell him about Susannah, only to find out he already knows.
