Popular TV star Les Dennis has opened up on the real reason he left Family Fortunes - and also answered the question about who would play Amanda Holden in the film of his life. The 69-year-old was appearing on Kate Thornton’s Podcast White Wine Question Time podcast and also spoke movingly about when half of his comedy double act - Dustin Gee - died suddenly.
He told Kate Thornton why he’d gone on Big Brother: “I’d just come out of the Big Brother house and the phone wasn’t, you know . I went in thinking that I was going to get a reboot, everybody says they’re going to the Big Brother House or a show like that for charity or whatever, and certainly at that time there was no fee when we were doing those, there was no fee.
Kate said: “I think she could probably pull that one off herself.” Les could only reply: “Maybe, maybe yes.”
