Jamie Vardy was handed his first Premier League start since January as the Foxes began life after Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers left the Foxes on Sunday and interim managers Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler picked the former England international against Aston Villa.Leicester started well and hit the post through Harry Souttar but they fell behind midway through the first half.
Villa played out from the back and Emiliano Buendia played through Ollie Watkins, who marked his 100th Premier League appearance with a goal after a cool finish.He collected Wout Faes’ long ball expertly, outpaced Ashley Young and then found the bottom corner to make it 1-1.Bertrand Traore looked to have won it for Aston Villa in the 87th minute when he brilliantly curled the ball into the far corner after Wilfred Ndidi gave the ball away in a dangerous position.
