Leeds United have until 11pm on Friday, September 1 to do their business this summer
The transfer clock is ticking and all the signs point to a hectic few days at Elland Road as Leeds United look to get their business done. Leeds have made huge progress over the last week by finally bagging a striker in Joel Piroe and more moves are on the cards as the club look to give Daniel Farke the tools required to get the club out of the Championship at the first time of asking.
That has been hammered home as a necessity now as Daniel Farke looks to build a well-rounded squad capable of building on Saturday’s result. Utility man Jamie Shackleton picked up the left-back reins in the second half but he isn’t seen as a realistic long-term option there and with Leo Hjelde struggling there previously, there is a clear hole to fill ahead of the weekend’s clash against Sheffield Wednesday.
See off Rutter interest Reports of interest in Georginio Rutter emerged just a day or so after his best performance in a Leeds shirt by some distance. He was arguably the best player on the park at Portman Road and the suggestions that Ligue 1 side Lyon are taking a look at him will not have gone done too well behind the scenes at Elland Road.
Last minute loans Joe Rodon is the only man to arrive on loan so far this summer, joining from Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month, but supporters can more than likely expect to see at least one or two more temporary deals done between now and 11pm on Friday.
