A number have already announced closures
Two schools in Leeds are among the handful that have been forced to close due to the extreme heat being faced across the nation.
The UK's first red weather warning for heat is currently in place covering parts of Yorkshire including the city. In Leeds, the weather is predicted to hit 36C today but could reach 39C tomorrow. The current weather has seen a handful of schools relax their uniform policy today but some have decided to shut completely as a result of the heat.However, by the middle of the week, temperatures are expected to cool down according to the Met Office.
To cope with the current heat, Leeds West Academy and Lawnswood School have shut as a result of the heat.
