Lawyers for a group who lost loved ones during the pandemic have also launched a scathing attack on the management of the probe.
Scotland’s Covid-19 public inquiry is facing an official complaint from bereaved families over its failure to explain £8million of spending.
Anwar said: “It is with deep regret that bereaved families find themselves in the position of publicly criticising the inquiry but promises were made which continue to be broken. If the Scottish inquiry continues in this manner, how can we have any confidence that it will hold any government or institution to account for the death of thousands from Covid-19?
“Is there a provisional witness list? When will we have sight of it? When will we be asked to consider those witnesses? “Furthermore, we understand that the post for the solicitor to the inquiry is still not filled permanently and the interim solicitor Gordon McNicol was lead solicitor at the trams inquiry.”
