A kind Lancashire farmer who says he has been left with ‘hundreds’ of unsold turkeys due to ‘scaremongering’ has launched a campaign to help struggling families at Christmas.
“We know lots of people are struggling this year, so it was a chance for us to do some good out of what has been a pretty tough situation for us.” There’d been around 25 birds sent out and 170 vouchers sold by Wednesday since the campaign launched on Monday . “The gift of a beautiful tasting, free range, heritage turkey this Christmas, and we’re working with Community & Business Partners CIC to identify families and distribute these.If you can buy one, it would mean the world to us, and to them.
