Hepatitis A is a contagious liver disease that results from exposure to the Hepatitis A virus.

Casey SmithKroger is recalling three varieties of frozen berries due to possible Hepatitis A contamination.

Kroger was informed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that a sample of Private Selection frozen berries was tested by the FDA and found to be contaminated with Hepatitis A, according to a company announcement.The frozen berries have a two-year shelf life, according to the FDA, and the federal agency is"continuing to investigate to determine whether there are other implicated products.

Anyone who purchased the recalled products should not consume them and should return them to a store for a refund or replacement.
