Things got heated between the punditry duo over praise for the long-serving Ibrox defender.
Raging Kris Boyd has rinsed Connor Goldson after Celtic hero Chris Sutton attempted to offer a defence of the Rangers star – labelling him a "good servant".
But things didn't get any better for interim boss Steven Davis during his first game in charge with Rangers fans left stunned following the dismal display in Cyrpus. And before the Scottish Premiership clash with St Mirren, Boyd ramped up the pressure on the players in the wake of Beale being shown the door, as he rhymed off offenders during the lacklustre displays so far this season. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "Tavenier, Connor Goldson, Ben Davies. They disappear.
Boyd was left stunned by the claim, responding: "A good servant? He has won two trophies." Sutton went on: "Out of the three you have named in my opinion that is harsh on Connor Goldson."
