Arizona is the No. 2 college basketball team in the country (or at least that’s what high-falutin’ bracketologists would have you believe). But on this neon-splashed night in Sin City, the player that shined brightest on the court was Jabari Walker.

Arizona is the No. 2 college basketball team in the country . But on this neon-splashed night in Sin City, the player that shined brightest on the court was Walker. Craps and blackjack are foolish gambles because Vegas builds hotels with the lost wages of knuckleheads like you and me. But Walker is a solid-gold investment, a value play guaranteed to pay dividends for whatever NBA general manager is smart enough to draft the 6-foot-9 CU sophomore.
Everywhere I looked in T-Mobile Arena, I saw red people – or at least crazies clad in the school colors of the Arizona Wildcats, whose fan base turned this semifinal match-up into a tough road game for Colorado. Anybody petty enough to bicker that Tad Boyle regularly wins 20 games per season, but can’t make the Buffs a top 25 program, the answer is obvious: It takes more than a handful of diehards in the stands to build an elite national program.
