Ferrero Recalls Kinder Chocolates Over Salmonella Outbreak
Ferrero announced a voluntary recall of two chocolate products due to potential salmonella contamination.
The U.S. recall comes after more than 100 cases of salmonella were reported in Europe from products made in the same Belgian factory. Ferrero is voluntarily recalling the products out of an abundance of caution due to cases of salmonella in customers in Europe that ingested products from the same facility—around 100 cases were reported, according toNow, Kinder Happy Moments Chocolate Assortment and Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats basket are being recalled in the U.S.
The Kinder Mix Chocolate Treats Basket comes as a 5.3-ounce cardboard basket with a best-by date of July 30, 2022. They were most likely sold at 14 Big Y Supermarket locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The lot number for this recalled product is found on the back panel and is 03L 018AR – 306.
