Actor Kevin Spacey is awaiting a verdict from a British jury working to determine if he is guilty of several sexual offenses, a decision that could result in a career-ending jail sentence for the two-time Oscar winner.
Spacey, 63, has pleaded not guilty to nine charges against him relating to accusations from four men spanning two decades. The charges include sexual assault, indecent assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.The four-week trial began on June 28, and it featured high-profile stars serving as character witnesses or being asked to corroborate timelines as the jury heard about several instances of alleged misconduct.
Another man who allegedly awoke to Spacey performing a sex act said he was drugged and described the actor as “atrocious, despicable, and disgusting." He became emotional at the end of his testimony last week, depicting how his career came to an end in 2017 after actor Anthony Rapp publicly accused him of sexual misconduct. A New York court ruled in Spacey's favor in 2022, but the damage to his reputation was already done.
