Check out our new interview with TokyoVice star Ken Watanabe, where he chats about hbomax's new crime drama and the unique time period in Japan's history that it reflects:
HBO Max's new crime thriller Tokyo Vice covers the memoir by journalist Jake Adelstein, who was the first American to be assigned to the Tokyo crime beat in the 1990s. Adelstein was assigned to work with an older detective during that time, and veteran actor Ken Watanabe fills that role as detective Hiroto Katagiri in the show.
Screen Rant: So, Ken, this show is deeply rooted in Japanese tradition and coming from somebody who was born in Japan, what do you hope audiences get out of a show like Tokyo Vice in terms of what they think about Japan?
