There’s plenty to celebrate in the winter months—holidays, hot chocolate, snow!—but in the fashion world, it’s also the return of boot season. No other style of shoe is quite as well-equipped to brave the cold weather, whether you’re selecting chunky ankle boots for day, or an over-the-knee style for night.
Holmes’s minimal outfit proved that, with the right proportions, even the simplest of ensembles can pack a serious punch. She wore a black shirt-dress from Kate Spade’s new spring collection, as well as a sleek, white crossbody bag, and a pair of black leather knee boots with crystal embellishment. The statement boot concealed under a long skirt is a chic alternative to wearing it loud-and-proud with, say, a mini skirt.
