Police have said they are growing "increasingly concerned" for the safety of an 11-year-old girl reported missing in the Scottish Borders.Police said the search effort was a "huge operation", including specialist divers and a helicopter.She was wearing a white jumper, brown trousers and boots.Det Supt Catriona Paton said Kaitlyn was last seen at the Galashiels Transport Interchange near the town centre.
"As you can imagine we are approaching nearly 24 hours since that last confirmed sighting and we are growing increasingly concerned for Kaitlyn's safety and her wellbeing," Det Supt Paton added. Det Supt Paton said that an extensive number of resources and specialists had been assigned to the search - this included specialist divers, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and mountain rescue teams."The community response so far has been really encouraging," she added. "This is a huge operation. We have got all of our resources in this area focused on the priority of tracing Kaitlyn safe and well.
