Kaiser Permanente and its employees will resume negotiations this week, but more picketing is possible around the U.S. in November
Kaiser Permanente employees across the country are gearing up for a second round of strikes as contract negotiations between the health care giant and workers continue.
The existing contract expired at the end of September, leading to workers at more than a dozen Kaiser facilities in the Bay Area joining thousands of other U.S. employees in a three-day strike. Negotiations are scheduled to resume on Thursday, Kaiser told The Examiner on Tuesday. But even as negotiations pick back up, the coalition said Tuesday it notified Kaiser that another strike could take place next month during the first week of November, citing concerns about the healthcare giant making “outsourcing threats” against workers.
