Ryan was allowed to become a free agent and the Riders elected to proceed withThe decision has paid off as the 28-year-old Vedvik is averaging 46.2 yards on 77 punts. Vedvik was recently assigned kickoff duties and is averaging 66.7 yards on 19 kickoffs.
Vedvik, a product of Stavanger, Norway, is still getting used to the Canadian game after spending four seasons at Marshall University. He had stints with eight NFL teams before signing with the Riders on Oct. 10 and averaging 46.0 yards per punt in four regular-season games.Article content
