and RS7, the '24 Audi RS Performance-spec version of their 4.0-liter twin turbo V-8 pump out just a bit more than 621 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. This mostly comes from a boost pressure increase from around 35 psi to nearly 38 psi, and the extra power helps drop the fast Audis' zero-to-60-mph sprint to just 3.4 seconds , at least according to Audi.
Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system is standard and uses a fully mechanical center differential. That diff splits the torque between the front and rear axles with a 40 percent front and 60 percent rear in normal conditions, but can also be manipulated by Audi's traction control system to change that to a 70/30 and up to a 15/85 split when needed. The mechanical center diff is also lighter, which is another performance improvement in the RS Performance models.
Drivers will also be able to select from four pre-programmed driving modes and be given the option of two customizable modes that are specific to the RS: RS1 and RS2. Even the pre-programmed modes are unique to the RS Performance experience. An example that Audi gives is that in efficiency mode,up to nearly 100 mph. Coasting is a fuel-saving programming feature from Audi in which the engine turns off and is fully decoupled from the transmission to allow for engine-drag-free coasting.
