NEW: Police say the woman led them on a chase that span approximately 30 miles in Jacksonville.
April 01, 2022 at 8:44 am EDTJACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released new information overnight regarding an alleged kidnapping and high-speed chase that ended with a 5-year-old girl found dead in a retention pond.
JSO said it received a call Thursday evening about a reported kidnapping in progress in the area of Dunn Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard. Several officers immediately took off their gear and jumped into the pond and captured the woman, but did not see the child.
