Former HIbs hero is set for an emotional return to his old stomping ground in Wednesday's Conference League play-off.
John McGinn has vowed not to celebrate if he scores against Hibs on Wednesday out of respect. And he’s warned his team mates to respect his old side too - because he will take it personally if they don’t.
“It’s very easy for people down here to disrespect Scottish football and I take that personally. I’m sure it will be a tough game and a very difficult start for us in European football." McGinn watched both legs as Hibs impressively saw off Luzern with a 3-1 win in Leith followed up by last week’s 2-2 draw in Switzerland. And he’s already passed on his insider knowledge to his own club’s analysis team - singling out Martin Boyle, Elie Youan and £700,000 signing Dylan Vente as danger men.
"I know they spent a lot of money bringing him in and he was really good in both ties so the respect will be there and we'll absolutely respect Hibs 100 per cent.
