'Silence & non-action is a deeply political choice in these times.'
If you follow John Cusack on Twitter, you already the actor tends to state his opinion bluntly. More often than not, Cusack can be found sharing his support of presidential hopeful and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders or his disdain for President Donald Trump—it’s never a surprise to see a tweet calling for impeachment on his feed. He regularly uses social media to share his opinions on all types of important issues, like climate change and the potential war between the U.S. and Iran.
Cusack’s comments come following Alabama’s Republican-led Senate's passing of HB 314, which places a near-total ban on abortion in the state, on Tuesday night. Under the new bill, doctors could face up to 99 years in prison for providing abortions to women under any circumstance other than instances of “serious health risk” to a pregnant woman, a “lethal anomaly” of a fetus or an ectopic pregnancy, in which a fertilized egg grows outside of the uterus.
