'I’m so ready for something like this'
Reality TV star Joey Essex has been announced as the latest celebrity signed up for the 2023 series of Dancing on Ice. The news was revealed on Friday's This Morning, with Joey joining presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on the daytime programme.
Speaking about joining the line-up for the ITV skating competition, the 32-year-old, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex , said he had skated "a few times" when he was younger. “I would love to win. I’m going to put all my energy into this... This stage in my life, I’m so ready for something like this," Joey said.
"I’m doing it for me," He added: "I want to impress the judges but I want to impress myself. I’m going to put all my effort into it." The TV personality will be one of eleven celebrities taking to the ice in the upcoming series. Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne was also announced earlier today and so far former EastEnders actress DJ Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, Love Island 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson and Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher have been confirmed for the series.
Joey is no stranger to reality TV programmes, appearing on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here in 2013, Celebrity MasterChef, Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and more.
