EXCLUSIVE: Joe Joyce's next fight will be 'big' despite Zhilei Zhang upset according to George Warren
Despite being a significant favourite heading into the fight, Joyce was dominated over the course of six rounds by his Chinese opponent who inflicted a fight-ending eye injury.
“If Joe wants that rematch, it’s his right to invoke it, it’s not ours. Our relationship with Zhilei will continue if he doesn’t, he’s got that decision to make. He can do it immediately. He could take a fight and we could look to revisit it later in the year. “We are going to have to assess it, he’s going to have to look at the performance and what went wrong but that decision on the rematch is down to him.”Whatever decision Joyce makes, Warren believes it’s just a matter of time before the Englishman returns to big fights after being in touching distance of a world title shot.
