Jim Beam may face a $45 million loss from its warehouse fire
In the wake of the Jim Beam warehouse fire which broke out on July 3 in Versailles, Kentucky, the brand is facing multi-million dollars in losses, industry experts told FORBES.
"I am speculating on what Beam means by 'relatively young,' but we can assume it to be about two years old, as this usually means between two and four," he says. The company says the fire will not impact consumer sales, which leads Fischer to believe the whiskey is closer to the two-year mark and will be able to be supplemented by product in other warehouses.
However, Jim Bean's loss doesn't stop at product, says Fischer. He explains that the company will also lose profits on approximately 13.5 million bottles of Jim Beam.
