The New York Jets have some needs at the NFL trade deadline. What will GM Joe Douglas do?
The NFL trade deadline is less than 48 hours away. And with Week 8 nearly in the books, it’s pretty clear who is buying and who is selling.
But in a league where injuries are relentless Lawson and Cook give the Jets a nice insurance policy if someone ahead of them on the depth chart gets hurt. And Douglas isn’t going to give that insurance away for free. Nor should he. This is an area Douglas could have done better with during the offesason: Allen Lazard has been up and down and Mecole Hardman is already gone. Corey Davis’ retirement hurt, too.
But they could swing a deal for Raiders slot receiver Hunter Refnrow, who would give them an experienced slot receiver still in the prime of his career. Broncos receiver Jerry Jeduy is also an intriguing option — especially considering Jets receivers coach Zach Azzanni coached him in Denver.In an ideal world the Jets’ top priority is to upgrade the offensive line as soon as possible.
