Jets’ first-round pick healthy a scratch vs. Cowboys | New kicker impresses in warmups

The New York Jets' first-round pick wasn't active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

McDonald’s status for Sunday’s game is the latest sign of that challenge. McDonald played 13 defensive snaps in the first game and finished with one tackle.

Meanwhile, the Jets have a new kicker after Greg Zuerlein was ruled out with a groin injury. They signed Austin Seibert to the practice squad Saturday and elevated him to the active roster. Seibert was on the field for warmups in the leadup to the Cowboys game and looked quite comfortable. He pounded several long kicks straight through the uprights at AT&T Stadium, including one from 58 yards .
