Testimony will continue Thursday in Jason Meade's murder trial. who shot and killed Casey Goodson Jr. in 2020.the last two days, testifying that he did not initially intend to shoot Goodson, but did so after Goodson didn't comply with Meade's commands.That's what jurors are being asked to consider,Meade has maintained all along that Goodson had a gun and pointed it at him. Goodson's family contends that Goodson only had sub sandwiches and keys in his hand when he was shot.
Meade also testified Wednesday that when he approached Goodson after shooting him, he found Goodson's gun and a plastic bag under his torso.Columbus police Officer Ryan Rosser testified for the defense Wednesday. He and Meade worked together on the U.S. Marshal's fugitive task force."All you saw was an individual walking up the front yard. Is that correct?" Rosser was asked. "Correct.
The defense asked him what officers are trained to do when they come face to face with a gun. Rosser answered that they are trained to stop the threat by firing.
