Religion News Service columnist Jana Riess, herself a Latter-day Saint, discusses the LDS Church's wealth in the wake of the '60 Minutes' broadcast.

This means that in the past two years the church gave nearly $2 billion to charitable projects, whereas it reported giving $2.5 billion over the previous 35 years put together.

Like Waddell in the “60 Minutes” interview, it did not confirm or deny the reports of how much money the church has in its stores, but it did attempt to provide historical context.
