The Lauderdale County, Alabama, sheriff on Wednesday said that Vicky White, a missing former jail official, visited escaped capital murder suspect Casey White in prison before helping him escape last week.
She visited him in a state prison after he was transferred out of the county jail in 2020 because of a suspected escape attempt and before his return to the jail in February for court proceedings in the murder case against him. The pair, who Sheriff Rick Singleton said were in a “special relationship,” have been on the run for four days. Casey White, 38, is a capital murder suspect who was already serving a 75-year-sentence for unrelated convictions. Vicky White, 56, is charged with permitting/aiding an escape, which is a felony.
The sheriff’s office on Wednesday also released new surveillance video of Vicky White’s patrol vehicle captured moments after she escorted Casey White on his escape from the county jail.Corrections officer fired as officials ‘don’t really have a clue’ where she, inmate fled: Alabama sheriff The patrol vehicle was left in the parking lot, and Vicky White and Casey White left the scene in a different vehicle, a 2007 rust-colored Ford Edge with an unknown license plate.
