That didn't take long: The Jaguars brought back linebacker Wyatt Ray for his second stint of preseason, only two days after his release.
Ray, 6-foot-3, 250 pounds will take defensive tackle Malcom Brown's spot after the veteran lineman was released earlier on Wednesday. Ray is currently entering his fourth in the league, originally signed by the Cleveland Browns at the conclusion of the 2019 NFL Draft.
A journeyman, Ray has played for seven teams, including the Jaguars. He was originally signed by Jacksonville in June, spending the entire offseason with the club and well into training camp. He has appeared in 19 career games and recorded 15 tackles and two sacks with the Tennessee Titans and Cincinnati Bengals .
With Ray back under the fold, the Jaguars' roster currently stands at 85 with defensive back Ayo Oyelola not officially counting against the roster as part of the league's International Player Pathway program. The Jaguars, along with the rest of the AFC South, were chosen this year as part of the league's random draw.
