An intruder reportedly broke into the ITV studios in London close to where This Morning star Holly was due to arrive for work later on that day.
Police had been called following a major security scare at ITV studios in London involving a young female worker at the premises just days before the plot to kidnap and murder Holly Willoughby was exposed to the public.
Scottish television host Lorraine Kelly was also expected to arrive soon after, with security bosses at the site operated by BBC Studioworks forced to notify the authorities according to reports in The Sun. A source said at the time: "A man snuck into the studios by following a junior female member of ITV staff into the lift, which took him right down to outside the This Morning offices.
ITV said: "The isolated incident was swiftly dealt with by security. The safety of colleagues, on and off-screen, is always of the utmost importance and we have robust security measures in place. No ITV daytime show was on air." It is suspected that Holly will be taking some time away from This Morning following the terrifying ordeal as she also pulled out from the Pride of Britain awards ceremony in London tonight.
