Season 15 was another wild anthology of misadventures, with The Gang traveling to Ireland and getting into all sorts of trouble.
All three of these storylines have added some serious depth to the previously one-dimensional characters, with the serious episodes being some of the best-reviewed ones in the show. Dee is in serious need of one of these storylines, as she now feels flat compared to her fleshed-out co-stars. These serious storylines are few and far between, but with at least one happening in each season now, the show needs to find some time to explore Dee in season 16.

There are several storylines the show could explore, with the most obvious being Dee's career as an actress. Dee has wanted to act for years, with her failed pursuits often being the butt of The Gang's jokes.
If It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia wanted to go even darker, it could explore Dee's childhood trauma. Dee had an abusive mother and an absent father, and a storyline exploring her complicated relationship with Frank could be interesting. Season 16 could possibly explore how Dee being the only woman in The Gang affects her, with her being constantly belittled with sexist comments throughout the series.
