'We all love living in Moss Side.'
Local residents living on the border of Moss Side and Hulme have spoken of their worry and shock after a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in the street.
They told the Manchester Evening News how despite Moss Side's 'reputation', the area was usually quiet and felt safe with a mixture of locals and students living there. But one resident, Sam Ali, said after the fatal stabbing last night, people will now feel 'extra paranoid'. Another 60-year-old man, who has lived in the area his entire life, described how it used to be 'wild' but had changed recently. He said: "It's changed. It's gone quiet.Another neighbour said: "It's been quiet for the last 12 months. I was in the house last night so I didn't see it. I saw the police cars at around 9pm. I'm surprised to see it.A woman who has lived in the area for 20 years said people 'love living in Moss Side'.
Forensic officers are continuing to work at the scene this afternoon, with two forensic tents remaining in place within the cordon. Evidence markers have been placed on the road within the tape.
