Nightmare for residents as property firm battles with problem
Stinking raw sewage has flowed into the basement car park of two barely completed apartment blocks, forcing residents to wade through the foul sludge for several weeks. Residents at Adelphi Wharf blocks 2 and 3 - a stone’s throw from the University of Salford - are fed up with the problem.
When the MEN visited the block we saw human faeces on the car park, and there was a strong smell of raw sewage. They continued: “On June 9, specifically, it was discovered that pumps one and two were found not to be functioning as expected, thus all manholes were lifted to trace back to the pump chamber and clear all blockages. It was subsequently discovered that an electrical contractor was required to investigate potential issues in the plant room.
“Although the measure currently in place is temporary, it does mean that the function is now working as expected. A Wet Vac will be on site today , to commence clean up in the car park.
