I have listened to all but one of the January 6 hearings, and was initially inclined to agree with statements such as this, which are part of a larger narrative: many Republicans showed great character in the final days of Trump’s administrationBut after thinking more, I’ve concluded that Cipollone gave the former vice-president far too much credit. On January 6, Pence was faced with two bad options, neither of which offered him an opportunity to demonstrate great character.
