An investigation was underway after a man was found fatally shot Thursday evening in Newark, police said.
The man, identified Friday as 36-year-old Newark resident Christopher G. Griffin, was found dead on the 300 block of Mt. Prospect Avenue just before 7 p.m., according to a joint statement from theThe agencies did not release any other details about the deadly shooting as it remained under investigation. No arrests were made and no suspects were named Friday.
