Mum-of-one Jodie McCann, from Salford, died in hospital in April
An inquest has opened into the death of a 'loud and bubbly' mum who died aged just 22. Jodie McCann, originally from Salford, died in hospital on April 2.
A post mortem noted her provisional cause of death was hypoxic injury following loss of airway during tracheostomy, where an opening is created at the front of the neck so a tube can be inserted into the windpipe. That caused multi-organ failure and a heart attack, against a background of gallstone pancreatitis. NottinghamshireLive reported that the coroner expressed her sincere condolences to all who knew Jodie at the brief hearing, before adjourning the inquest.
"Mum, I think I'm having a heart attack. I'm going to die" Sloane heard Jodie say, before she told the 22-year-old to call for help. Just over two weeks later, Jodie lost her life.
