Councils across the UK have called upon the Government to ban disposable vapes as soon as the end of 2024
The Local Government Association is said it is "crucial" that such a ban is implemented to stop single-use vapes flooding the UK market - as France and the European Union considering similar measures.
The association also raised concerns over the advertising for these products appealing to children - due to their bright colours and sweet flavouring.David Fothergill, chairman of the LGA's Community Wellbeing Board, said: "Councils are not anti-vapes, which are shown to be less harmful than smoking and have a place as a tool to use in smoking cessation.
