The shots broke out in the northbound lane of I-57 near 111th Street in the Morgan Park neighborhood at 10:37 p.m., Illinois State Police said.
Three people have died and three are wounded, ISP spokesman Josh Robinson said.A 13-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were among those killed, records from the Cook County medical examiner’s office indicate. Medical examiners had not yet publicly identified the boy and the man Monday morning.
Medical examiners said the 1-year-old infant child was pronounced dead shortly after midnight, medical examiners said. Chicago Fire Department first responders pronounced two of the victims dead at the site near West 111th Street and South Bishop Street where the targeted white SUV pulled over, Chief Juan Hernandez said.
