The crash injured the other driver, a Milwaukee man, who was taken to the hospital with what police said were serious injuries.

An Indian Creek man was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision near Zion, the Lake County sheriff’s office said. The identities of the drivers were not immediately released. The collision happened at about 9:15 a.m. on West Russell Road at Park Lane in unincorporated Zion.

The Milwaukee man, 46, was headed west on Russell Road when his Ford F-150 pickup truck crossed the centerline and collided with the eastbound Chevrolet Malibu driven by the 72-year-old Indian Creek man, police said. Police said they do not know why the driver crossed the centerline. The Indian Creek man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
